The origin of NeuroBayes®

NeuroBayes® was developed within the field of experimental particle physics. In this area it was first applied in top class international research at the worlds most important particle accelerators at CERN and Fermilab.

At the newest and largest particle accelerator, the LHC at CERN, 600 million proton-proton-collisions take place every second.  This amounts to an awe-inspiring 15 petabyte (15 million Gigabyte) of data in the course of a year. More than 5000 scientists worldwide work to evaluate this data. Hereby NeuroBayes® is used with great success to recognise the physically relevant events within this vast amount of data.  The results are then used to investigate key issues in current particle physics. These include the understanding of the conditions shortly after the big bang, the search for dark matter and an explanation for the origin of particle masses.
